What are the different Lesson Types?

Standard Lessons: Covers a world of topics. Explore subjects through a variety of tasks, comprehensively improving language skills.

Speaking Lessons: Perfect for conversational classes. No grammar or vocabulary activities, just highly engaging speaking practice.

What if I don't know my exact English level?

Don't worry! The levels (A1 to C1) are just guidelines to help you find topics that match your vocabulary and grammar. If you pick a topic that feels a little too hard or too easy during the session, your coach will naturally adjust how they speak to perfectly match your pace.

How do I book a topic?

Simply click on any topic card that interests you. A window will pop up with the session details. Click "Book This Topic" and you'll be taken straight to the calendar to pick a time slot!

How long are the sessions?

By default, all sessions are scheduled for up to 60 minutes. However, depending on your pace and how quickly we successfully complete the lesson, a session will typically last anywhere from 40 to 60 minutes.

What software do we use for the call?

We use Google Meet or VooV for all of our 1-on-1 sessions. Once you book a topic, you will receive a calendar invitation with a direct link to join the video call. You can join from your computer, tablet, or smartphone.

Can I cancel or reschedule my session?

Yes, absolutely. You can reschedule or cancel your session directly through the link in your confirmation email. We kindly ask that you give us at least 24 hours' notice so we can open up that time slot for other students.

Who are the coaches?

Jason (Founder & Lead Coach): Based in California, Jason is a professional English coach. Having studied Spanish, Japanese, and Chinese, he knows firsthand the challenges of language learning and can offer multilingual support to beginners. He focuses on building your confidence with real, everyday American English.

Takashi (Coach): Based in Japan, Takashi is a close friend of Jason's who successfully mastered English himself. He provides a highly supportive, low-pressure environment perfect for other Japanese natives learning English. A huge gaming fan, Takashi specializes in casual daily conversation and practicing English while playing games together.

Why is Takashi only available for A1 topics?

Both Jason and Takashi are available for A1 (beginner) sessions. However, for A2 through C1 topics, Jason will be your dedicated coach. While Takashi is fully fluent, he currently focuses his coaching time exclusively on helping our newest beginners build their foundational confidence.

How often are new topics added?

We continuously review and hand-pick the best new discussion materials to ensure high-quality speaking practice. Because we carefully curate the selection to match our platform's standards, new topics are added periodically rather than on a strict schedule. Check back occasionally to see what's new!
