FAQ

Do I have to take the course before I play?

No. The Game Courses and the Practice Sessions are completely separate.

You do not need to finish a Game Course before booking a session. Also, if you only want to study by yourself, you do not have to book a session. You can choose how you want to learn.

How long are the sessions?

We offer 60-minute and 90-minute sessions. You can choose the time when you book. We will use the full time to play the game, practice English, and complete our goals.

What equipment do I need for a session?

You only need a few basic things to play with us:

  • A headset and microphone: This helps us hear each other clearly over the game audio.
  • Google Meet or VooV: We use these platforms for our voice call. You do not need to turn on your webcam!
  • A PC: All of our guided sessions are strictly for PC players (no PlayStation, Xbox, or Switch).
  • The Game: Make sure the game is fully installed and updated before our scheduled time.
My English is not very good. Can I still play?

Yes! You do not need perfect English. Playing games together is a great way to learn naturally through immersion.

We will adjust how fast we speak to match your level. If you get stuck, we are very patient, and Takashi can also explain things in Japanese if you book with him. This is a safe place to practice and make mistakes.

Do I need to be a skilled gamer?

Not at all! Beginners are completely welcome. If you are an experienced player, we can also play Ranked modes (if our game ranks allow it).

We always try our best to win because winning is fun, but we do not get angry if we lose. Our main goal is having fun and speaking English.

Is this safe for children and teenagers?

Yes, absolutely. We use a private voice call (Google Meet or VooV). We do not use public in-game voice chat, so the student will only talk directly to their coach.

Parents can review our game library and choose the game they feel is most appropriate for their child when booking.

Who are the coaches?

Jason (Founder & Lead Coach): Jason is a professional English coach from California. He has studied Spanish, Japanese, and Chinese, so he understands how challenging learning a new language can be. He is very patient and focuses on building your confidence with everyday American English.

Takashi (Coach): Takashi is a close friend of Jason’s living in Japan. He successfully learned English as a second language. He creates a supportive, low-pressure environment, which is perfect for Japanese learners. Takashi loves gaming and specializes in casual conversation while playing together.
