Common Questions

Do I have to buy the Core Curriculum to take Live Sessions?

No, they are completely independent experiences. You can buy the digital courses without ever booking a live session, or you can book live Drop-Ins without touching the digital curriculum. It's totally up to you!

What exactly is a "False Beginner"?

A false beginner is an adult who studied English in school (so they know basic grammar and vocabulary), but they can't actually *use* it in a real conversation. Our live coaching is specifically designed to unblock this knowledge and turn it into active speaking skills.

Is the Core Curriculum just a bunch of videos?

Definitely not! It's a highly interactive digital environment. You will actively engage with drag-and-drop exercises, fill-in-the-blanks, automated quizzes, and reading/audio tasks. You are participating, not just watching.

Can I use a translator or dictionary during live sessions?

Yes, absolutely! You are welcome to use translation tools or dictionaries during our calls to quickly bridge a gap in understanding. We just encourage you to use them as a quick tool rather than relying on them completely, so you can build real conversational confidence.

Is there any homework?

The only "homework" we suggest outside of the courses are daily Anki flashcard reviews. We highly recommend them to lock new vocabulary into your long-term memory, but it's completely up to you!

Is a webcam required for live sessions?

Not at all! While seeing each other can help with pronunciation and connection, it is completely optional. If you're more comfortable with audio-only, or you're just having a "bad hair day," feel free to keep your camera off. The priority is your speaking practice.

What happens if I miss a live session?

We ask for at least 24 hours' notice for cancellations. If you cancel before the 24-hour window, you can fully refund or reschedule the session. Cancellations within 24 hours cannot be refunded, as that time was specifically blocked out for you on our calendar.
